Liu Yunshan, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), pledged on Friday to cement party-to-party exchanges with the Center Party of Finland.
Liu, head of the publicity department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark while meeting with Tuomo Puumala, vice president of the Center Party.
Liu hailed the sound growth of China-Finland relations, citing strengthened political trust, fruitful trade cooperation and vigorous cultural exchanges.
"China is ready to work closely with Finland to further tap potential for closer cooperation," he said.
Liu said he appreciates contributions by the Center Party of Finland in boosting bilateral ties, urging both sides to deepen party-to-party exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and boosting the growth of China-Finland relations.
In response, Puumala told Liu his party treasures its ties with the CPC, vowing to make joint efforts with China to boost bilateral relations.
Under the current global situation, it is of great significance to cement Finland-China relations, Puumala said.
Puumala started his five-day China visit on Thursday. He is scheduled to visit northwest China's Shaanxi province in addition to Beijing.
