Two people were killed and three others wounded in a shooting incident occurred in a tire store in the U.S. state of North Carolina on Friday afternoon.
According to a report by local WTVD TV station, the shooting took place just after 3 p.m. at J. T. Tire in Durham NC. The report said two people were killed and the owner of the business was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Law enforcement officers said there were five people shot by the gunfire. One of the dead was a female employee of the store and the other was a contract worker.
TV reports of the scenes showed a body covered by a white sheet outside the store while dozens of investigators from both the Durham Police Department and the Durham County Sheriff's Office were present.
Officers said the suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6 inches tall, with a tattoo on the left side of his face. He wore a bright colored T-shirt and reportedly fled the scene driving a silver sedan.
No information was available as to the possible motive. Details of the shooting were also unclear.
