The United Nations (UN) humanitarian chief Valerie Amos arrived in Syria Tuesday morning to discuss ways to scale up the humanitarian response, said Jens Laerke, spokesman of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
During the three-day mission, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator will meet government officials and humanitarian partners including the Syria Arab Red Crescent as well as affected families, Laerke said in a statement.
