Visiting Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov?in Moscow?on Tuesday, with both sides pledging to further promote their comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.

Under the policies made by the two countries' leaders, Dai said, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has been steadily promoted with substantial fruits.
He called on the two countries to firmly safeguard and push forward the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, in order to further facilitate China-Russia friendship, domestic development in both countries, as well as world peace, stability and prosperity.
Lavrov said the Russia-China strategic partnership is irreversible, which not only serve the fundamental interests of both countries, but also conduce to peace and stability in the world.
The Russian foreign minister said Russia and China hold similar stances on many major international affairs and adhere to the purposes of the UN Charters and the norms of international relations.
Russia is willing to further strengthen strategic communication and coordination with China, Lavrov said.
During their talks, the two sides also exchanged views on the Syria issue.
Dai was in Moscow for the seventh round of strategic security consultations between the two countries at the invitation of Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.
He will also pay an official visit to Mongolia as guest of the Mongolian government.?
