Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua said Friday that Japan should stop its irresponsible words on the radar incident and lodged solemn representations with Japan over the issue, according to the Chinese Embassy in Japan.
Cheng made the remark during his meeting with Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Chikao Kawai, adding what the Japanese side said is far from the truth.
Cheng stressed that China has clarified the entire incident and is strongly dissatisfied that Japan propagated the incident that Chinese vessels beamed radar toward Japanese marine ships.
The ambassador said Japan's act is overstating "China threat" and required the Japanese side to stop their irresponsible words on the issue.
Cheng also asked the Japanese side to stop stirring up tensions between the two countries deliberately.
The Chinese Defense Ministry also said it is the Japanese side that triggered the radar incident as its Self-Defense Forces vessels closely traced and monitored China's ship which was conducting regular training in high sea.
