Asia-Pacific countries expected China to boost participation in jointly advancing security, politic and economic cooperation in the region, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was quoted by spokesman as saying on Monday.
President Yudhoyono delivered the hope when receiving chairman of China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS) Zheng Bijian at the State Palace on Monday.
"It includes on how to jointly advance the region, in maintaining politics, security in the region, and how to boost economic cooperation in the region," Teuku Faizasyah, spokesman at the presidential office, said during a media briefing.
During their meeting, Yudhoyono and Zheng also shared views on other regional issues, including how to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and China based on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Founded in 2010, the CIIDS is a think tank which provides intellectual support and policy consultation for the government. Zheng Bijian visited Indonesia to attend a meeting with Indonesian think tank, Center for Strategic and International Studies, to discuss the steps to implement the Comprehensive Partnership agreed by the two heads of states last October, according to Teuku.?
