The G20 summit will be in Los Cabos, Mexico, from June 18-19, 2012.

Mexico will be looking to discuss a range of policies and issues, including:

Strengthening the international financial architecture and regulation;

Public policy options which would determine the causes of food price volatility with a view to ending it;

Policies which would promote green growth and

Greater investment in scientific and agricultural technology and research.

The G20 Summit was created as a response both to the financial crisis of 2007–2010 and to the growing awareness that key emerging countries were being kept on the periphery of core global economic discussions and governance. The G20 Summits of heads of state or government were held in addition to the G20 Meetings of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors.

Its members include: U.S., Japan, Germany, UK, France, Italy, Canada and Russia (also known as the G-8), Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, plus the EU.
