U.S. high school shooting suspect indicted with attempted murder
WASHINGTON, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- A grand jury in U.S. state Maryland's Baltimore county has indicted the suspect of a high school shooting last month with 29 counts of charges, local TV reports said on Tuesday.
According to the Wbaltv. an NBC affiliate, Robert Wayne Gladden Jr. was indicted in the Aug. 27 Perry Hall High School shooting case. The Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office on Tuesday said Gladden has been charged as an adult on 29 counts related to the shooting of a classmate -- nine counts of attempted murder, nine counts of first-degree assault, nine counts of reckless endangerment, one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence and one count of carrying a weapon on school property.
The shooting took place around 10:45 a.m. on Aug. 27 inside the school's cafeteria, injuring 17-year-old Daniel Borowy. Fifteen- year-old Gladden was the primary suspect.
Perry Hall High School is the largest public high school in Baltimore County, enrolling over 2,000 students. U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan visited the school last month to address 800 Baltimore County English teachers. Enditem
