Belarus strongly condemns the third nuclear test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea ( DPRK), Belarus Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Belarus strongly condemns the DPRK for carrying out its third nuclear test on February 12, which was conducted in the breach of a number of UN Security Council resolutions, including the recent resolution 2087 (2013), the statement said.
Belarus Foreign Ministry stressed that "the North Korean actions might post a serious threat to the whole world and the security both in North-East Asia and outside its boundaries".
The Ministry also added that Belarus was one of the first countries to voluntarily abandon the right of possessing nuclear weapons, thus demonstrating a possibility of preserving peace and stability without relying on this type of weapons of mass destruction. "We intend to stay committed to the international nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament regime," the statement said. Enditem
