Libyan rebels were locked in clashes with remnants of pro-Gaddafi forces in some neighborhoods in the capital Tripoli, Al-Jazeera television reported in a written flash news on Tuesday.

In another news flash, the television said rebels are now only 500 meters away from Gaddafi's tightly-guarded Bab al-Azizya compound in Tripoli.
