An exhibition of cultural relics and historical photos showcasing the development of Shanghai over the past century will run through Oct 7 at the Shanghai History Museum to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year.
A total of 139 historical items are on show at the exhibition, titled Original Aspirations and Better Life. Thirty-eight of these exhibits are being displayed to the public for the first time. These exhibits include leaflets for the May 30 Movement, which was started after a Japanese leader from a Shanghai-Japanese textile factory killed a Chinese worker on May 15, 1925.
