Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province said they had captured a man on suspicion of murdering six of his family members.
Chen Wenfa, aged 21, was arrested Monday in the nearby mountains of his village in Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County, said a spokesman with the Municipal Public Security Department.
Chen was suspected of killing his parents, grandmother, uncle, uncle's wife and his cousin on Nov. 16 at their courtyard in Wumeng village, the spokesman said.
Chen sought medication in the Kunming Psychiatric Hospital in August and was diagnosed with acute schizophrenia, the spokesman said.
