A driver in Xi'an who hit a pedestrian and then stabbed her to death may face the death penalty, a lawyer said, Zhengzhou Evening News reports.
The suspect, Yao Jiaxin, a college junior, hit 26-year-old waitress Zhang Meng on the night of Oct. 20. Seeing she was wounded and trying to record his plate number, Yao stabbed her to death.
The lawyer said Yao would face the death penalty for the intentionally killing the woman.
