1 in 10 Swiss feels 'bad': survey
Adjust font size:

The Swiss are becoming less positive about the state of their health, according to a study published on Wednesday.

The Swiss pharmaceutical association Interpharma said that when asked about the current state of their health 13 percent of those surveyed said they felt "bad," the official Swissinfo news website reported.

This compares with a figure of only 1 percent recorded regularly in polls made 10 years ago and more.

However, Interpharma's "Health Monitor 2008" found that the number of visits made to doctors was on the decline.

In the 12-month period before the survey, 31 percent of those questioned said they had consulted a doctor. This compares with 43 percent recorded nine years ago.

Three out of four people (73 percent) considered they did enough to look after their health. But at the same time, two- thirds of those polled considered individuals should do more.
