Nicholas Chorier, a kite photography expert, is casting new light on famous buildings, such as the Taj Mahal and Udaipur City Palace, the Daily Telegraph reported. The 47-year-old French photographer makes his own kites using siliconized nylon and carbon sticks, and ties his image equipment in a small cradle dangling from the kite. |

Chorier uses a remote control to move the cradle and camera into the best position to take the picture and check the images with a portable TV screen. "From above it's a completely new vision, new perspectives, new ways to understand the landscape and heritage," he said. "Every place has something interesting to show from above." |

A man was struck by lightning Friday while climbing Mount Tai in the rain, Qilu Evening News reported yesterday. The man, surnamed Wang, was "holding an umbrella and standing close to a handrail when the lightning hit," his friend said. His chest and stomach was burned, and he was rushed to the hospital. The doctor said his wounds were not life-threatening. |
