Mr. Manning is being forced to strip naked and sleep without clothing during his incarceration. |

Pvt. Bradley Manning, the American soldier accused of transmitting tens of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks, was forced to sleep naked during his incarceration at the military brig at Quantico, Virginia, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Manning's lawyer David Coombs said that the new conditions were imposed on Manning, 23, after he made a "sarcastic quip" about his confinement. Manning has been made to sleep wearing only boxer shorts as part of a "prevention of injury watch" during the eight months of his imprisonment. Last Wednesday, Manning was ordered to relinquish his boxer shorts too.
A US military spokesman insisted there was no intention to cause humiliation or embarrassment. Coombs, however, said he believed the order was "punitive".
