A doctor proposed an innovating solution -- standing desks to save one from the danger of sitting syndrome, the Daily Mail reported.
Researchers have linked sitting for prolonged periods to cardiovascular diseases and many other health problems.
Dr James Levine in Minnesota himself has been walking on a treadmill while he works for ten years and has now initiated the study at a small company. The stations have replaced 30 desks so employees can now sit or stand while working.
By standing instead of sitting, we burn three times as many calories, he argued.
