Four Olympics spokespersons named

The four newly-appointed spokespersons for the Beijing Olympic Games made their debut at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games Main Press Center and International Broadcast Center. They vowed to use the platform provided by the Games to show the world the true face of Beijing and China.

Beijing Olympic Games' spokesmen Wang Wei, who is also executive vice president of the Beijing Olympics Organizing Committee (BOCOG), Guo Weimin, who is also an officer of the State Council Information Office, Li Wei and Liu Zhi, who are also deputy secretary-generals of Beijing municipal government (L-R), make a debut meeting with journalists in Beijing, capital of China on July 8, 2008.

The four spokespersons are:

Wang Wei, executive vice president and secretary-general of BOCOG; Wang will be in charge of the regular morning press conferences organized by BOCOG and the IOC to release the latest news about the games and venues.

Guo Weimin, chief of the first bureau of the State Council Information Office; Guo will be in charge of press conferences on non-Olympic news, such as social and economic news about China.

Li Wei, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Municipal Government.

Liu Zhi, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Municipal Government.

Li Wei and Liu Zhi will jointly take charge of press conferences regarding traffic conditions, environmental protection and city management in Beijing during the Olympic Games.
