German soccer giants Bayern Munich said Monday that France winger Franck Ribery will miss the first round cup match next Monday due to an ankle injury.
According to Bayern, the injury which Ribery sustained during pre-season training on Sunday, has ruled him out of the German Cup match against second division side Eintracht Braunschweig on Aug. 1.
Bayern's first Bundesliga match for the new season is scheduled on Aug. 7 against Borussia Moenchengladbach, and Ribery is set to be back for the league opener.
