Shenyang is the largest city in Northeast China and the political, economic, and cultural center of Liaoning Province. The city has a well-developed ground and air transportation network and abundant natural resources. Shenyang is also an important industrial centre in China, and serves as the commercial hub of China's northeast, particularly for Japanese, Russian, and Korean businesses.
As the host city of the 2006 International Horticultural Exposition and venue for the football (soccer) matches of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Shenyang has attracted a lot of world-wide attention. It has made great efforts to provide good shopping, lodging, dining, transportation and recreation for visitors from all over the world.
