Wang Zongfang brothers 東北二王
Wang Zongfang (right) and his younger brother Wang Zongwei were China's first criminals to have a reward on their heads, in this case the sum of 2,000 yuan or US$1,021.
Wang Zongwei, formerly a soldier in Inner Mongolia, used a gun they had taken from a prison in 1976 to kill four people and injure another three when they were caught stealing from a local hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning Province on Feb. 12, 1983.
The brothers then fled from North China to the country's central and southern regions, killing more people along the way. When they were shot dead in Guangchang County, Jiangxi Province on Sept.18, 1983, they had taken more than 20 lives, including those of policemen as well as normal citizens.
