ABB is a multinational company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, focused on the power and automation industries as well as robotics. With more than four decades of experience, ABB Robotics is a global leader in the manufacture of industrial robots.
ABB Robotics has about 4,600 employees in 53 countries around the world, and has installed more than 250,000 robots worldwide, according to its company website.
Its facilities for research, development and manufacturing are located in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Norway, Mexico, Japan, the USA and China.
ABB Discrete Automation and Motion division, of which robotics is an increasingly significant part, generated US$10.1 billion of revenue in 2014, according to the ABB Group annual report.
