The three-day event will include a number of events and activities, such as a Board of Governors Meeting, a General Meeting, market report presentations, forums, exhibitions, a joint press conference and several gala dinners.
A total of 163 businesses, coming in from 25 countries and regions across the world, are expected to join the event to discuss issues regarding instant noodles and how these relate to food safety, disaster relief, nutrition and health.
The 1st World Instant Noodles Summit was hosted by the Japan Convenience Foods Industry Association in Tokyo on Mar. 4-5, 1997. Its participants exchanged their views on common environmental and technical issues regarding instant noodles.
During the summit, the International Ramen Manufacturers Association (IRMA), which changed its name to WINA in 2007, was launched by Momofuku Ando (1910-2007), the inventor of instant noodles. This association aims to promote the sound development of the instant noodles industry and contribute to the overall improvement of people's lives.
