China's first regulation governing the market of online games goes into effect Sunday, Xinhua reported. To protect children from unwholesome content and Internet addiction, the regulation states that online games targeting minors must be free of content that lead to the imitation of behavior that violates social morals and the law. It also requires gaming companies to develop techniques that limit the gaming time of minors to prevent addiction. Players also will now have to register with their real names before playing games online, according to the regulation. |
據(jù)新華社報道,我國第一部專門規(guī)范網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲的法規(guī)周日(8月1日)正式生效。為防止未成年人接觸不良信息和沉迷網(wǎng)絡(luò),法規(guī)規(guī)定:針對未成年人的網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲中不得含有會致其效仿的違犯社會道德和國家法律的內(nèi)容;網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲運營企業(yè)須采取技術(shù)措施限制未成年人的游戲時間,預(yù)防未成年人沉迷網(wǎng)絡(luò)。另外,網(wǎng)絡(luò)游戲用戶須使用有效身份證件進行實名注冊。 |

As a sweltering heat wave hit parts of the country, the Ministry of Civil Affairs issued a notice requiring local governments to provide timely aid to wanderers, Xinhua reported. It says that rescue teams should be mobilized to persuade wanderers to stay in heat stroke prevention stations. For those who are not willing to receive aid in rescue stations, medicine, drinks and food should be given. Wanderers who are critically or mentally ill should be sent to hospital in time. |

China successfully launched its fifth orbiter into space at 5:30 a.m. Sunday as a part of its indigenous satellite navigation and positioning network known as Beidou, or Compass system. The satellite was launched from the Long March 3I carrier rocket at Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Xichang, southwest China's Sichuan Province. |

The Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination yesterday said the China Pavilion will switch to electronic smart cards for reservation proof in mid-August to prevent counterfeit tickets. The switch from paper will happen in mid-August. Electronic proofs will still be issued on a first-come-first-served basis for free at the pavilion entrance. Staff will recover the electronic smart cards upon entry. |

Joy rides replaced dining out to become Japan's top choice for leisure in 2009, according to the 2010 White Paper on Leisure published Friday by Japan Productivity Center. Dining out fell to number three after domestic travel. According to the white paper, 67.4 million people choose joy rides as their way for leisure. A Koyodo Press report attributed it to reduced charges for highways and increased awareness of saving. JPC has published annual white paper on leisure since 1977. |
