外資爭(zhēng)購(gòu)中國(guó)大米 |
With still a month to go until autumn's rice harvest, food magnates are ready to put up a purchase fight, the China Business Journal reports. Yihai Kerry, a Singapore owned enterprise in China, is building a rice production base in Jiangxi Province, a major grain production area. The base will purchase 350,000 tons of unhulled rice a year and has an annual output of 200,000 tons, which will put into use this December. To compete with COFCO, a leading Chinese state-owned food giant, it raised purchase prices and poached several members of COFCO's management staff with premium salaries. Although COFCO had signed supply contracts with local suppliers, it still feels uneasy about the situation, according to a source from the purchase department. COFCO has added more stations to collect rice. Yihai Kerry own several famous brands such as Arawana, Koufu, Wonder Farm and Orchid. |
